We come to you today to bring you one of our twice-weekly looks at what the ol’ celebs are up to this week, both bag-wise and public appearance-wise, because seeing the bags requires them going out in public. this week we have a couple celebs in categories that we don’t get to feature often, which always makes us happy—variety is the spice of live, after all, and we are truly interested in everyone’s handbags. check them all out below.

PurseBlog Beauty: Post-Fashion Week Pampering

As you may or may not have picked up on (but probably, because you guys have two eyes and an Internet connection), new York fashion Week ended a few days ago and we all need a rest. The long weekend helped, of course, but we’ve scoured the Internet to find the best beauty products, balms and potions for reinvigorating and rehydrating our winter-bitten skin, right down to our chapped lips.

Prada Cervo radiate Hobo

I have never been much of a fan of Prada. not for any type of specific reason; they’re just not my thing, however I can comprehend why others are so passionate about them. The leather is normally supple as well as lovely as well as I’ve heard terrific things about their high quality as well as construction. great leather, traditional shapes, as well as toughness – you can’t request a whole great deal a lot more than that, even if they don’t precisely tickle my fancy.

Which is why I can extremely much respect that a great deal of people will like the Prada Cervo radiate Hobo, even though it’s not absolutely wowing me. It has a ton of aspects working in its favor – buttery soft deerskin leather, easily accessible outside pockets, as well as a practical as well as wearable shape that would be excellent for work or play. I believe what’s stopping me from being a lot more enthusiastic is the color. I’m not much for tan, as well as if they provided me this in a grape-y purple or a slate grey, I’d most likely be turning cartwheels ideal now. however for those of you available that like tan, I may have discovered your new preferred daily bag. get with Saks for $1650.

Marc Jacobs Chinchilla Venetia Bag

slow but steady wins the race. this week I have had some substantial family problems, which has moved Viewer’s choice Monday to ‘whenever’. So I have to get to an email Christie sent me. She said, “I found this horrid Marc Jacobs bag while browsing Neiman Marcus. The Venetia is my favorite style normally, but what on earth is this?! maybe you like it, I have no idea, but it just seems like overkill to me.” I’m not sure about all of you, but I am curiously and mysteriously drawn to this bag. fur is so in style right now it’s ridiculous. I just bought myself a new fur coat… quite fashionable and not fully practical but I love it. I really feel like I could rock out this Marc Jacobs bag like it was my job.

The Marc Jacobs Chinchilla Venetia Bag puts the fuzz in this fur season. All the way from Africa, Marc Jacobs has found beautifully soft ivory chinchilla fur. My favorite part of the bag is the combination of fur on leather. Not only is there brown leather, but also there is tan lizard trim. Both of those can be found on the two front pockets with stunning push-lock closures. That is so cool. possibly pointless, but I tend to like pointless things. The bag also shows off signature golden hardware and can be carried by the two top handles. The dimensions of this fur ball with handles is 12″H x 16″W x 4″D. I can totally see where Christie is coming from; this bag is over-the-top, possibly a bit of overkill, impractical, and overly furry. but I just love it. If I could afford this purchase, I would make my way through cyber space to Neiman Marcus and buy this crazy beauty for $3,500.

Gallery: Oscar de la Renta resort runway show

If you believe Oscar de la Renta as well as Pablo Picasso noise like a match made in aesthetic heaven, you’re right. De la Renta showed his resort 2012 collection in the company’s recently acquired, unrenovated future headquarters, as well as the raw edges as well as midtown new York views set a fitting background for an angular, Spanish-inspired collection full of the detail as well as intricacy for which the brand is revered.

We’re fortunate that we were provided the chance to see this collection for ourselves at the show earlier this week; de la Renta’s work with pattern as well as structure should have an up-close checking out to comprehend the full range of the man’s brilliance. Thankfully, we’ve likewise get a full set of pictures for your checking out enjoyment after the jump.

PurseBlog Asks: would You use a handbag Raincoat?

A lot of you responded with your own tales of woe when Megs wrote about getting caught in the rain with her pale pink Givenchy Antigona, so I expect it shouldn’t surprise anybody that The handbag Raincoat exist and is available to purchase at Shopbop in three sizes. The much more I think about it, though, the much more I can’t hate on it.

At first, my reaction was snarky. who in the world would pay 30 bucks to keep their purses dry while they spring into the grocery store? Except, of course, lots of people would do that. maybe even me, if you caught me in the best mood. The idea is unpleasantly high-maintenance, but the execution is pretty practical, especially if you’re someone who spends a lot of money on bags. (Hi. You’ve come to the best place.)

The product itself works just like it looks like it does: you pop it over your bag and the handles poke out the top opening, which is adjustable with velcro. Water can still make its way into the space between the handles, but the large majority of your bag is covered. When you’re not using the bag-coat, it stores in a little pouch that will float to the bottom of your purse, completely forgotten until you need it. like I said: purchasing a handbag raincoat may not be the image of yourself that you want to project to others, but this one seems pretty functional if you choose satchels or totes.

I’m not sure that I’m organized enough to use one of these, if I actually purchased it. It’d probably end up like my fabric grocery bags: acquired with good intentions but left at home in all situations in which it might be useful. could you see yourself purchasing and using a handbag raincoat?

If you could, you’re in luck: all three sizes are available at Shopbop for $25, $28 or $30.
